The “Lifelines” series evolved from dealing with my father's illness. The inability to communicate with him caused me to seek answers. Although somewhat aware previously, I was struck by the number of other people struggling with similar breakdowns in communication with their loved ones
So, as each of these paintings emerge, I demand more from them than just the cathartic release of the raw chaotic emotion in expressionistic work. I search for the lines to life, reason and order. Each painting is photographed, examined for the most aesthetic details and then manipulated into a new digital creation. I refer to the resulting computer generated image as order's response. This in turn is examined and further manipulated into a meditative focal device; a Mandala.
This page introduces you to the expressionistic canvases created for this series. You may follow the appropriate links to the digital pieces and various mandala.
